Malaviya Mission Teacher's Training Programme

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 underscores the need for motivated, energized, and capable faculty in higher education. The capacity building for teachers at all levels is a key focus. Existing mechanisms, namely UGC-Human Resource Development Centres (HRDCs) and Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching Centres (PMMMNMTT), have significantly contributed to training faculty. However, continuous professional development is essential due to the dynamic nature of teaching and learning. Hence, the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP) has been re-launched by restructuring existing mechanisms to enhance the capacity and training of teachers/faculty. The mission aims to transform higher education by integrating Indian values and ethos into teaching, research, publications, patents, and institutional development.

The pillars of strengthening education in an institution are its educators and their ability to impart knowledge. With an ever-evolving landscape, the necessity to expand knowledge sets and skill sets can only be addressed by reshaping classrooms and adopting technological advancements and addressing the changing needs of the learners'. This transformation of institutions through their educators is not a supplementary requirement in current times but rather the foundation to any pedagogic change that will facilitate learning and promise quality education.

As SRCC comes closer to its centenary in 2026, our resolve is to impart quality education and foster critical thinking, ignite curiosity, and inspire the next generation to take on the future as the leaders in nation-building. MMTTC SRCC has taken up the challenge to carry forward this illustrious legacy through teachers’ training. The Center foregrounds the necessity of academic excellence and is a hub for intellectual and professional development for teachers’ in higher education institutions. While setting the bar high in teachers’ training by aiming for focused participation and interaction, the Center has successfully organized more than 50 programmes designed to address the dynamic educational landscape.

Each programme is an opportunity to thrive and interact and provides a space for dialogue and collaboration. At MMTTC SRCC, teaching is not just about information-sharing but also ensures that teachers are keeping pace with the changing needs of their learners and institutions. This is reinforced by providing a distinguished pool of resources from across the country. Our resource persons are from the best of institutions that this country offers, and the faculty team at MMTTC SRCC ensures that standards are never compromised in this regard.

As we stand at the threshold of the centenary year, we pledge to impart quality training and reinforce a culture of continuous learning. In doing so, we not only honour the legacy of SRCC but also prepare for the future, a future in which empowered teachers will continue to transform education for generations to come.
